Fans have not had news from Cody Rhodes since the night he lost his undisputed WWE championship and left the building, not to be seen again.
It seems that fans will have to wait a little longer to see the favorite of the fans back on their television screens.
The reign of 378 days of Cody Rhodes with the title ended abruptly at the hands of John Cena, who sought Travis Scott's help to capture his 17th World Championship in his last Wrestlemania this year.
Since then, The American Nightmare seems to have taken a free time from WWE, having been seen recently with his family at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida.
Rhodes had been previously announced for several SmackDown episodes before losing its title. WWE has now eliminated it from its advertising for May 2 and 9 editions by SmackDown, respectively.

However, it is still announced for the episode of May 16, 2025, which has generated speculation that could return after the live premium event Backlash.

After being harmed by Travis Scott in Wrestlemania 41, Cody Rhodes will want a rematch against John Cena for the undisputed championship upon returning.
Speaking in the podcast Wrestling with Freddieformer WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. predicted that The American Nightmare would recover his title at Summerslam this year.
“This gives Cody another hill to climb because they are going to fight again in Summerslam and Cody will recover the title because he is the new John Cena. So he will recover it,” he said.
That will depend on who in front of The American Nightmare for the title at the largest festival of summer.
John Cena is currently scheduled to defend his undisputed championship against Randy Orton at the Premium live backlash event on May 10.
A rivalry between The Viper and The American Nightmare has been managing for a long time. If Orton dethrones dinner next week, fans could see the rivalry of great success between the two Legacy members come true during the summer.
