The Colombian delegation already has reasons to celebrate in the World Games that are played in Chengdú, China. In just the first days of competition, the team added its first three medals: one of silver and two bronze, all in aquatic disciplines.

This contest, which is held every four years, brings together sports and modalities that are not part of the Olympic program, but that have great monitoring and high competitive level. In this edition, which began last Thursday and will run until Sunday, August 17, Colombia managed to get the first medals and apnea swimming medals.

The silver medal arrived thanks to the 4×100 meters swimming with fins. The quartet composed of Paula Aguirre, Grace Fernández, Diana Moreno and Viviana Retamozo stopped the stopwatch in 2 minutes, 36 seconds and 54 hundredths, leaving only behind China, which took the gold.

The bronzes arrived on two fronts. The first, in the 4×50 meters male relay with fins, with a team composed of Juan Camilo Rodríguez, Juan David Duque, Mauricio Fernández and Juan Fernando Ocampo. The second, in dynamic apnea with ffs1-FFS2 fins, where María Carolina Rodríguez got on the podium in the women's category.

With these three medals, Colombia starts their participation in Chengdú and makes it clear that, in water, talent and national resistance they are to compete to the powers.
