 
                 
He Crevillent Town Hall reaffirms its commitment to preservation of cultural heritage and the improvement of municipal services. The plenary session held on Tuesday night approved unanimously the initiation of the files to request from the Department of Education, Research, Culture and Sports the declaration of Asset of Local Relevance (BRL) of the Festivities in honor of the Virgin of Health and the Festivities of the Holy Guardian Angel, two of the most deeply rooted celebrations in the municipality. The mayor, Lourdes Aznar Mirallesthanked the consensus shown by all political groups and highlighted that “the City Council must ensure that traditions and our cultural heritage are not lost and this unanimous approval is deserved.”
Protection of Crevillent intangible heritage
The councilor of Culture, Monica San Emeterio Gilexplained that this decision means “a decisive step in the protection of the intangible cultural heritage of the municipality”, thus guaranteeing the conservation and dissemination of local traditions.
Las Festivities of the Virgin of Healthdating from 1902are one of the most popular events in Crevillent. Every year, hundreds of neighbors They accompany the image in procession through the streets in a display of faith and collective emotion. According to the technical report included in the file, this festival “constitutes a unique manifestation of traditional Valencian culture, with a strong symbolic component and historical, artistic, heritage, musicological and identity values.”

In addition to the procession, the program includes parades, concerts, pyrotechnic events and sports competitionscoordinated by the Association of Festivities of the Virgin of Health and the City Council itself, who work together to keep this centuries-old tradition alive.
The Holy Angel Festival, symbol of the El Ángel neighborhood
The plenary session also approved opening the file so that the Festivals of the Holy Guardian Angelwhich have been celebrated since 1901 in the neighborhood of The Angelobtain the declaration of Asset of Local Relevance. These festivals, deeply rooted in the history and identity of Crevillent, stand out for their historical, religious, ethnological and gastronomic value, as well as for the high neighborhood participation in all events.
Among the most representative activities are the procession of the Holy Angellas popular festivalslas neighborhood dinnerslos parade of giants and big heads and the traditional presentation of children to the Holy Angel. The technical report indicates that this festival “constitutes a cultural manifestation of great relevance that reflects the life, faith and customs of the people of Crevillent”, justifying the need to protect it.
The Festival Association and the Brotherhood of the Holy Guardian Angel, together with the City Council, will be in charge of preserving and disseminating this intangible heritage.
A new taxi ordinance to modernize the service
The plenary session also approved, initially and unanimouslythe new ordinance regulating taxi service in Crevillent, which will be submitted to public information during 30 days after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Province, the notice board and the City Council web portal.
The Councilor for Mobility, Gema Escolano Bernaexplained that “this initial approval serves to adjust to regional regulations and we also take into account an allegation presented regarding daily guards 365 days a year”, since currently there is only guard service on weekends and holidays. He added that, after final approval, “there will always be a taxi driver on duty every day, this modification being agreed upon by all taxi drivers in Crevillent.”
The objective of the new regulations is modernize the service and adapt it to Law 13/2017, of November 8, on Taxi of the Valencian Community, thus fulfilling the legal obligation to update municipal ordinances.
