This Thursday it's time to talk about cynicism, what the RAE describes as the “shamelessness in lying or in the defense and practice of vituperable actions or doctrines.” Something that we glimpse in so many political attitudes. Without going any further this Wednesday in Congress, where Feijóo accused Sánchez of politicizing the tragedy and using the DANA victims, after having rejected the suspension of the plenary session as a sign of mourning on the first anniversary of the floods that claimed more than 200 deaths and, in addition, maintaining a complicit silence about Mazón's continuity at the head of the Generalitat, despite being a president cornered by the lies that investigations have revealed in the last year journalistic reports, the judicial investigation and the testimonies of the victims' relatives.
There is also hypocrisy in some of the public demonstrations heard from the political and judicial right after the approval in the Council of Ministers of the draft Organic Law of Criminal Procedure (LOECrim), which leaves criminal investigations in the hands of prosecutors, prevents politicians from exercising popular action and expands the mandate of the State Attorney General so that it does not coincide with that of the Government.
