The Italian veteran, who adds his third victory in Spain, already knew what it was to win in the Tour of Spain (2021) and in the Getxo Circuit (2020), He shone again with a demonstration of strength and experience in the Burgos mountain.
Rui Costa (EF Education-Easypost) and Rui Oliveira (UAE Team Emirates) were second and third respectively, although they reached the finish line with almost minute and a half delay with respect to the winner.
The stage started with several escape attempts that were quickly neutralized by a very vigilant platoon.
