237 names with 237 stories and family members who just a year ago saw their lives cut short forever. The memory of these victims and their dignity has been the common thread of the State funeral held today in Valencia for those who died in the dana of last October 29, 229 people in the province of Valencia and 8 more between Castilla – La Mancha and Andalusia. Despite the institutionality of the event and the presence of Their Majesties the Kings, the tribute has been marked by the emotion of the relatives and attendees, especially when remembering the names of each of the deceased, and also by the tension, which has materialized in shouts against the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, both upon his arrival at the City of Arts and at the end. The event, chaired by Their Majesties King Felipe VI and Letizia, included speeches by three relatives of the victims, a minute of silence, the interpretation of musical pieces and the reading of the names of the 237 people who lost their lives in the tragedy. In the center of the enabled space, 237 white flowers have been placed, also evoking each of the fatal victims, next to a platform where a laurel wreath has been installed as a floral offering. All the official flags of the State, the autonomous communities and the EU have been next to it, where the Valencian journalist Lara Siscar presents the event.
