The Colombian pilot David Alonso continued to add important points this Sunday in the Moto2 World Championship after ending ninth at the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic, played at Brno Autodrome, the valid seventh of the calendar.
Alonso, who left from box 20 on the starting grill, managed to climb eleven positions in the 18 laps of competition to cross the goal in the ninth position. This action allowed him to enter for the sixth time in the points zone so far this season.
In Brno, the Moto3 world champion in 2024 reached 43 points in the championship, seven of them achieved in this race. Its best result of the year remains the third place achieved in the Silverstone circuit, where it went up the podium in Moto2 for the first time.
The victory in the Czech Grand Prix was for the American Joe Roberts, who dominated the race from beginning to end. The Belgian Barry Baltus finished second, while the Spanish Manuel González, current leader of the championship, completed the podium in the third position.
The next challenge for David Alonso in Moto2 will be the Austrian Grand Prix, a valid thirteenth of the championship, which will be played between August 15 and 17 at the Red Bull Ring of Spielberg. It will be a new opportunity for the Colombian to continue adding experience in the category.
