The center of Valencia has become the scene of a new protest against Carlos Mazón for the management of the dana and in memory of the 229 victims of the tragedy. Minutes before the start of the demonstration called by Acord Social Valencià to honor the 229 people who lost their lives a year ago. The organizers of the event They have deployed 229 thermal blankets on the ground to remember the deceased before the eyes of dozens of tourists who have respectfully followed the protest action.
The attendees are now about to walk the distance that separates the Generalitat from El Ventorro, a restaurant where the president of the Generalitat spent part of the most critical hours of the day with the journalist Maribel Vilaplana.
Beatriu Cardona, spokesperson for Acord Social Valencià, regretted Mazón's actions on October 29. “For Acord Social it is very important to have an act of tribute to the victims and to denounce the criminal negligence” of the president of the Generalitat, he stressed.

“It is very important to make the magnitude of the tragedy visible,” Cardona stressed. Participants observe the blankets placed on the ground in the Plaza de la Virgen with the names of all those who died on October 29 before starting the march towards El Ventorro. At 1:26 p.m., people began to applaud and chant Mazón's resignation and Picassent's resignation. Among the banners displayed, one stands out that says “Neither heart nor word”, in reference to the head of the Consell.
The organizers of the event have read a manifesto in which they denounce Mazón's “denialist policies” of climate change and have highlighted the negligent actions of the Consell. “We are clear that in order to grieve it is necessary for Carlos Mazón and his Consell to assume political and criminal responsibilities, resign and put themselves at the disposal of Justice,” they added.
Arrival at El Ventorro
As the march has progressed, more protesters have joined. In total, nearly a thousand people arrived at the doors of the El Ventorro restaurant at 2:01 p.m. chanting the word “revenge.” The police have set up a security perimeter to guard access to the restaurant while protesters peacefully shouted “they are not dead, they are murders.”
Today marks one year since the Dana tragedy that devastated part of the province of Valencia and left 229 dead in Valencia and tens of thousands of victims. A day that the Valencian Government has agreed to be a day of official mourning throughout the Valencian Community for the first year of the dana.
At 2:08 p.m., the protesters took the road back to the Palau de la Generalitat. Those responsible for the event wanted to go through the parking lot where Mazón and the journalist said goodbye, but they were unable to do so as they did not include it in the request they made for the demonstration before the Government Delegation.
