Bets between groups of friends are usually common. In Alcoy, in addition, one of them has gone viral. Can a person run like a car? And, above all, can a radar mark the speed at which it does? Young people in the municipality have achieved it and even some have exceeded the maximum speed marked by what there are those who fear, Even that you can face a fine.
The scene has been recorded at night in one of the most central streets of Alcoy, in Sant Vicent Ferrer, almost where he joins the beginning of the Carrer Sant Nicolau. The video has gone viral in a well -known social network, Tiktok, and has generated more than 4 million views, more than 239,000 likes and 3,700 comments.
But what is that scene? In the recording you can see a group of people waiting next to the radar installed at this point where the speed limit is marked in 30 km/hour. So far it could be a meeting of friends on a summer start night. Although reality is another: they are immersed in an authentic career to see who is more fast. And, also, if this technology is able to register how much they run down the street as it does with vehicles to warn if that limit has passed.
One by one, several young people try luck while the rest jelly their feat. The first of them reaches 24 km/hour. The radar shows a face in smiling green since it has not exceeded the limited speed on this street. Men and women face to see who is faster and the radar is marking the speed: 27 km/hour, 28 km/hour, 22 km/hour … until one of them seems to be the winner: The radar gets red because it has reached 32 km/hour. The sad face of the screen does not seem to agree with the challenge achieved that the rest applauds.
The game continues with young people trying to overcome their own personal brandsalthough few get it, much less rise the one achieved by which he got the red face.
Viral
And as with any video in which something different or a novelty is shown, the comments are counted by thousands. “Where is it and why don't you invite me?” Says a user. “In the villages there is more quality of life and relationships. It doesn't matter if they spend the night in the middle of nowhere “, Add another. “X end a radar for fun and not to pay”, “point it as a national holiday” or “I suffer all the time because I thought they would fall,” are some of the comments.
You can also read a reaction as if the one who runs was a car: “Some will get a fine.” There are even those who make a sports criticism as if it were a real race: “Usain Bolt, during their world record of 9.58 seconds in the 100 meters, reached a maximum speed of 44.72 km./h., Down down, it would have approached 50 km./h., Although on that ground he had left his knees.”
These Alcoy young people have set the game on the table. Will it be repeated in other parts of Spain? You never know when a challenge becomes viral.
