Dominik Mysterio surprised the whole world of wrestling when he finished his long -term relationship with his Mami, Rhea Ripley and chose to stand on his heated rival, Liv Morgan, at WWE Summerslam 2024.
Liv Morgan had been chasing Dominik Mysterio for months as part of his 'Liv Morgan Revenge Tour', which included snatching everything he loved from Rhea Ripley. After capturing the WWE Women's World Championship his next goal was Dirty Dom, who, after months of resistance, finally chose his side on Rhea.
During a recent interview with Peter Rosenberg in the Podcast Cheap Heat Dominik Mysterio spoke about his decision to end his relationship with Rhea Ripley. The Dirty One declared that, although Ripley forced him to follow the relationship at the beginning, Dominik felt that he could work well for both of them as it flourished.
However, when Dominik Mysterio lost the American NXT championship, he hoped Rhea Ripley supported him. Instead, Ripley treated him badly and gave him an ultimatum: either he recovered the title or did not return with her, something Dominik believed that his current girlfriend, Liv Morgan, would never do.
“How did your relationship start with me? He strangled me, hit me and dragged me on his shoulder, as if I had shattered face. So I thought, okay, you know, I will join. And then the relationship bloomed from nothing. I thought, 'Ok, this could work. And tell me, 'Hey, everything is going well,' he put on my face and said, 'Better returns home with that title or not returning home at all'.
