“What the government is doing with the civilian population of Gaza we have to denounce it being equanimal and being weighted.” Thus, the PP leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has reacted to the announcement of the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, of a law to impose the embargo of weapons on Israel, as well as eight other measures before the genocide that the country led by Benjamín Netanyahu is committing in Gaza. Feijóo has reproached Sanchez not to have talked about Hamas, which is “the main problem” in the region.
The leader of the PP has disabled the announcement that Sánchez has made this morning. “He said what he had already saying and something else,” said the opposition leader during a Telecinco interview in which he has slightly hardened his speech against Israel. “What Israel is doing with the civilian population of Gaza is inadmissible,” he said. “Confusing all civilians living in Gaza with Hamas's terrorists is inadmissible,” he added. “Blocking humanitarian aid is unforgivable,” he said, to ensure that “Israel has to fulfill international law.”
But there are the reproaches to Israel, who in less than a year has killed tens of thousands of people in Gaza, the vast majority of civilians. Feijóo has not defined as “genocide” the Israeli military offensive and has placed the responsibility of the conflict in the Palestinian part, specifically in Hamas.
“He has not talked about the Hamas terrorist organization,” Feijóo reproached Sánchez. “He has not demanded that Hamas return the hostages he still has in his territory. He has not talked about the kilometers of tunnels that Hamas has under hospitals, schools,” or the use of “children” and “civilian population” as “human shields.”
Feijóo has assured that Sanchez's announcement has to do with the “weakness” of the president. “This has been demanded by his partners and goes out to say things. Some of them have already said them, in others he has lied,” said the leader of the PP, who has denied that Spain will stop buying “weapons” from Israel.
“The communication systems of a good part of the Spanish army material are Israeli components. The 8×8 that Spain (armored military vehicles) have Israeli components. It is missing the truth,” said Feijóo.
The PP leader has also assured that “the president had is to take this matter to Europe and get the entire council to rule in a clear way.”
Feijóo has concluded with an allegation against Hamas: “The president of a democratic government has to say that Hamas is a terrorist organization, that killing in Israeli territory is absolutely unjustifiable. Thinking that Hamas is currently the main problem is simply to look to the side that I cannot share.”
