“Who fails the Head of State is the one who abandons him in Paiporta in full Dana.” This was what Alberto Núñez Feijóo referred to the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, on September 5. The PP leader tried to justify his proposal to the king and point to Sánchez, who in November 2024 was attacked in the Valencian town affected by the water thrombus that killed 228 people. His escorts took him and the PP began to call the president “Galgo de Paiporta”. It has not been a year and now Feijóo alert against “polarization” and “political violence”, a term that applies equally to the murder of Charlie Kirk and the boycott on the way back.

Feijóo started this new political course with a hard speech on the back of the anger that caused the wave of forest fires that devastated more than 400,000 hectares this summer. To evade his own responsibility in the communities where he governs, the PP lashed out at the Director of Civil Protection, Virginia Barcones, which he called “Pyrocal.”

In just two weeks, the PP leader has related immigration and crime, has claimed to be “equanimal and weighted” with Israel, while denying that he is executing a genocide in Gaza. It has also been absent from the beginning of the judicial year chaired by Felipe VI.

But this Monday, Feijóo wanted to be the leader who bets on the “reformist center.” The PP ranks head intends to place between the “extremes”, to become the reference of those who want a moderate government, flee from the “polarity” that, he says, cause the government and Vox, each from one side.

“Demanding respect and coexistence is pure common sense, and that is what the PP will do,” the largest body between congresses, and before which he made a speech in which he placed at the same level the murder of activist Ultra Charlie Kirk, the killing of more than 60,000 people in Gaza or the boycott on the return, which this Sunday was the cancellation of his last stage. Everything is “political violence” at the same level.

“Since they have no project, they are grabbed to the only thing they have left, divide society,” said the leader who did not have been his “like the fruit” that the president of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, coined to call “son of a bitch” Pedro Sánchez.

Neither the PP nor the Feijóo himself disdained after having described Sánchez as “Galgo de Paiporta”, an expression that Feijóo, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and many other spokesmen of the party, in reference to the day when there was an attempt to aggression to the president during a visit to the Kings to Paiporta. Other insults came from the same factory, such as “Paiporta mouse”, aimed at the Government delegate in the Community, Pilar Bernabé, or “Caniche de Gandía” to Minister Diana Morant.

The dehumanizing insults that repeats his party against the president never caused Feijóo's complaints, who decided to ascend in the last congress to Miguel Tellado, the leader together with Ayuso, who uses the most aggressive language against the members of the Government.

In the PP they have not even denounced, even politically, the dozens of demonstrations that the extreme right has summoned before the federal headquarters of the PSOE, in the Madrid street of Ferraz. At Christmas from 2023 to 2024, the Ultras beat a doll that imitated Pedro Sánchez. From the PP, only Rafael Hernando went out to the fore to attack the socialists.

A few days later, the protesters themselves kept dolls from Sánchez and Carles Puigdemont at the shout of “1, 2, 3, hanging from the feet.” This same summer, from the PP of Madrid the insults have been pulled to the president of the Government that young people of rights have popularized in concerts throughout Spain.

Silence before harassment to Iglesias and Montero

The PP came to convene a demonstration on the same Ferraz street in parallel to the ultras concentrations that, day after day, besieged the main socialist headquarters in full negotiation of the amnesty law. If in 2004 the PP considered “illegitimate and illegal” the protests in front of the headquarters of Genoa Street against lies in 11M attacks, 20 years later they just pointed out that “it is normal for people to be outraged.”

From the PP, attacks against the PSOE headquarters that have happened this summer have not been described as “political violence.” In Cantabria, the attackers used Molotov cocktails. One of them was the son of a PP mayor.

But neither was the attack with explosives against the headquarters of Podemos in Cartagena (Murcia) or IU in León, executed by the same person. Not even when an ex -military recorded himself firing in a Malaga shooting gallery against photographs with the faces of Pedro Sánchez, Pablo Iglesias or Pablo Echenique. The man was acquitted.

In the case of the former Vice President of the Government and former leader of Podemos, from the PP the systematic harassment and sustained at the time of which both he and his partner, the then Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, with her three young children.

For about two years, dozens of Ultras harassed the family at home without judges or police officers avoiding it. When Iglesias left the government, the siege was over. During the trial to the ultra accused of instigating harassment, the couple was a victim of insults. “Who sows winds, collects storms,” Miguel Tellado justified when he was spokesman for the PP.

After being promoted to number two by Feijóo, at the beginning of the political course, the general secretary of the PP returned to the stories in an act in Pamplona: “Here we can begin to dig the pit where the remains of a government that should never have existed will rest.”

Feijóo has never shaved Tellado's words. Nor has a condemnation of the attacks that have suffered tens of socialist venues or before Podemos and IU have heard. The leader of the PP assured in an act with Ayuso this month: “This government only moves fear. The fear of justice to the partners and the majority of the people.” The Madrid president did not lag: “He needs to have an invivable country, because he can no longer live in him.”

Just a few hours later, the murder of Charlie Kirk motivated a wave of solidarity from the Spanish PP with Donald Trump's activist and friend. “One of ours”, as the new generations of Ayuso were defined.

This Monday, Feijóo said they want to flee those speeches. It was in the same intervention that he talked about “disinfecting.” He referred again to the Government of Pedro Sánchez.
