WWE has an inflated roster, and it is clear that not all fighters have the opportunity to appear on television weekly. John “Bradshaw” Layfield recently revealed the true reason why he stopped being a WWE commentator.
JBL made a transition without fighter problems to commentator. After working with Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler over the years, the member of the WWE Hall of the WWE, 58, officially retired from his role in 2017. Since then, he has made sporadic appearances as a guest to comment on some fighting and even attacking several people.
In the podcast Something To Wrestle WithJBL mentioned that trips were one of the reasons behind his decision to leave the comments.
“I didn't like trips. It wasn't the commentator's job, they were travel.
JBL also pointed out that he does not believe that there is a place for him in WWE's comments today, suggesting that he will not return to his previous role in the short term.
“And you know, they are still. And now they have, you know, great commentators out there. And there is no place for me, and there should not be because these boys are fantastic. But the main thing was that I simply tired of traveling. I have 6.3 million miles only in American Airlines. And I'm simply tired of getting on a plane every week. Until today, go up to airplanes.

JBL comments on regime change in wwe
During a question and answers session with Sportskeeda WrestlingJohn “Bradshaw” Layfield said about Triple H replacing Vince McMahon as WWE creative chief.
JBL praised The Game for his work and said he has made the headquarters in Stamford a better place.
“Triple H is the only one, for me, that I could have taken the place of Vince. Not only has she taken the command and maintained the company the same, they have improved it. What they are doing is simply incredible. The multimillion -dollar television contracts, the crowds they are attracting. I am impressed by what he and Nick Khan together, and the entire team, Bruce Prichard and all others, they have done.
It remains if JBL will return to the comment table, but it seems that he is preparing to get out of his retirement in 2025. He has been making many appearances out of WWE lately and has even been challenged to a fight for Frankie Kazarian and has expressed interest in winning gold.
