The WWE Gunther superstar will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Damian Priest and Finn Balor in a Triple Threat struggle in Saturday Night's Main Event. Before the show, the former WWE fighter Matthew Rehwoldt (previously known as Aiden English) predicted a surprising turn that would help the ring general to retain his title this weekend.
Initially, only The Prince was scheduled to challenge Gunther for the world title. However, in the December 9, 2024 edition of Monday Night Raw, Adam Pearce added The Street King to the fight, making it a triple threat competition in the next special NBC event.
In the podcast REBOOKED WrestlingMatthew Rehwoldt predicted that the main conflict in Saturday Night's Main Event would be between Finn Balor and Damian Priest. He added that the former Judgment Day companions ”will destroy each other.”
“Here, (in SNME), it is not that it is its goal because Gunther is trying to recover his control, but the conflict is (between) Finn (Balor) and Damian (Priest). It is an emotional rival that are destroyed with each other and then collect the remains, ”said Rehwoldt. (From 01:13:17 to 01:13:47)
