The former Wwe Tom Pestock recently said that Baron Corbin's character is dead. Pestock left the company last year after not receiving a new contract offer.
The former NFL player signed with WWE in 2012 and was assigned to the NXT development brand. He spent four years there before being called to the main roster. During the years, he had a variety of character changes and apparently was stagnant.
In an interview in Insight With Chris Van Vliet, Pestock was asked about his plans now that he is no longer on WWE. The Lone Wolf wants to fight in Japan, but with a different character. Baron Corbin's character is dead, so he needs a new name, a new trick and more:
“Baron Corbin is dead, as we know. We are leaving a new name, a new nickname, a new character. I love wrestling. I love the creativity that implies. I love freedom. I love acting in front of an audience and receiving that live feedback at the time. There is nothing better,” Pestock said.

Tom Pestock's first fight after leaving WWE was at Game Changer Wrestling on January 19. He faced Josh Barnett at the Pay-Per-View the People vs. GCW.
Tom Pestock is open to WWE
In the same interview with Chris van Vliet in InsightTom Pestock revealed that he has not closed the door to a possible return to WWE. Pestock does not save grudges towards the company because they always treated him well and believes that there is always another chance.
“I think so. I don't think that door is ever closed. I mean, how many people, look at the roster now as boys. Cody, Drew, Punk. I mean, punk, the guy who said never, never, would ever come back. Again, I don't keep a grudge towards WWE because I am very grateful for everything they have given me,” Pestock said.
Tom Pestock already has wrestling plans. He is interested in hiring an agent to help him get some papers in the world of acting. He is also interested in fighting in Japan, possibly acting for New Japan Pro Wrestling.
