In their bad days they win and in their good ones. Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia are a period couple. Two players with enormous talent that have found in their partner the perfect complement to submit to the entire circuit. In 2024 they were a roller, but in 2025 they are not being able to find their best version and, even so, they continue to make history. In Bordeaux they had been suffering party after a game. They were not comfortable for either of them, but they were raffling unforeseen until they were planted in the final and there are absolutely lethal. They have taken the title and not only that, but they have become the worst nightmare of Chingotto and Galán.
The two best doubles of the last months had seen the faces many times and in almost all of them there was the same destination: Arturo and Agustín taking the victory. Nine consecutive triumphs demonstrated the tremendous dominance of the couple one over their immediate persecutors. In Rome it seemed to change that dynamic, with a victory of Fede and Ale who cut that streak. However, The 'Golden Boys' have been in charge of reaffirming their superiority getting another trophy before them.
Coello and Tapia celebrating a point in Bordeaux.
The ghosts for 'Chingalán' come back. They seemed to have turned the situation around, but in a week in which they were the clear favorites to win, they have left empty again. At the classification level this defeat does not mean much, because it is a P2, but it is emotionally a rather serious blow. They will continue working and fighting, as they have always done, but every time with less time to fight for that throne of the paddle that resists them.
A repeated movie
The movie of the final is not new, it has already been seen on many occasions. Igualado match, tense duel, but the balance always falls on the same side. Chingotto and Galán can only win sweeping, because in parity they are not able to give that extra point. Both set are a clear reflection of this.
Chingotto/Galán and Coello/Tapia in the Burgundy final.
The first had a clear script. They were looking for Chingotto with the globe and this time he was not able to put his viper as much force as in other quotes. Coello blocked without problems and the 'Golden Boys' ate the network. Galán tried to counteract with his air game, but they were not able to get ahead. Everything came to Tie-Break and there could be anyone. Tapia had it in his volley and failed. Galán had it too and he stayed on the network. Even Chingotto missed a tray. But When Coello could close it, the best of the four long, he did not hesitate. 7-6 and uphill for Jorge Martínez.
That wrapping became a break to the first exchange for number one. Even with a lined uphow, far from their best version, they were able to take the dominance of the match. Ale and Fede had to do everything right to take the points, while Arturo and Agustín seemed to be much closer to doing Winners. They resisted that of Olavarría and Leganés, but A couple of failures condemned them and the game fell on the side of the kings of the paddle with another 6-4 in the second.
One more final, but the same story of other times. There will be more battles between them, but Coello and Tapia have made a mirage, with a partial 10-1 for them which gives them greater advantage in the ranking. Triumph in sports and mental for the next tournaments, which could be decisive for the remainder of the course. Because Arturo and Agustín have shown that they do not need to be fine to win and that is precisely what makes them the best duo of the planet.
