Goldberg's return will see him defeat a world champion and then remove the title immediately, according to a member of the Hall of Fame. What will happen later seems to be an unexpected turn.
Bill Apter talked about the possible withdrawal of the WCW legend and presented his own theory about what will happen. Apter, who is a member of the NWA Hall of Fame, mentioned that Goldberg will not have easy access to Gunther and that, at least, he must face Ludwig Kaiser. He added that he does not see the 57 -year -old fighter losing his retirement fight, so he would finally defeat The General Ring and withdraw the World Heavyweight Championship.
He also predicted a turn, in which Gunther could only recover the title through a new tournament. Apter detailed his theory in The Wrestling Time Machine:
“People think it will be a single fight for their retirement. I do not believe it, I think that what is going to happen is that Gunther will say that you cannot simply come here and get a fight for the title in your retire It will organize a tournament where Gunther will recover the championship again. ” (1:20 – 1:59)
Teddy Long did not agree and said he felt that Gunter would not lose the title in a retirement fight. Long said that the Austrian star would win that fight.
For now, it remains to be seen how the situation will develop when Goldberg returns.
