The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has decreed to this Thursday and Friday the orange alert along the entire coast of the province of Alicante. The Agency warns that in these areas between 60 and 40 liters per square meter can be collected in one hourwhich could be 100 liters in 12 hours. These alerts may be accompanied by possible hail and strong gusts of wind.
When will the heavy rains arrive in the province of Alicante?
The intensity of the rains is very different depending on the area or municipality in which we are. That is why we wanted to analyze at what time the greatest amount of precipitation is expected in the main towns in the province. These would be the data by municipalities, according to the Aemet website at 09:00 am:
- Alicante: Aemet indicates that rainfall will arrive at noon although it will not be significant and may be accompanied by a storm. In the afternoon, without a trace of rain.
- San Vicente del Raspeig: In San Vicente, the forecast indicates that the rain will arrive from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., although it will not be intense.
- El Campello: In El Campello it will rain weakly and intermittently during the morning. No precipitation is expected in the afternoon.
- Elche: In the city of Elche this Thursday the accumulated amounts could reach 23 liters per square meter at noon. As in l'Alacantí, a storm with heavy rain is expected between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Benidorm: In Benidorm the rains will be weak and scattered. At 4:00 p.m. they could be accompanied by a storm.
- Cook: The largest accumulations (10 liters per square meter) are expected between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The rest of the day, without precipitation.
- Villena: In Villena, precipitation is expected between 11:00 and 17:00, although it will not be intense.
- Alcoy: Rainfall will return to Alcoy at midday and will be intense, with up to 23 liters per square meter. Precipitation will continue throughout Thursday, although in a weaker form.

In Alcoy it is expected that this October 9th the greatest rainfall will arrive at lunchtime / Aemet
- Place: Light rainfall is expected throughout the day.
- Torrevieja: Cloudy skies and weak and scattered rainfall throughout the day, which could be somewhat more intense at midday.
- Orihuela: In Orihuela, the panorama of an intense but punctual storm is repeated, which will begin at 10:00 until 17:00 and will have its peak intensity at noon, when up to 12 liters per square meter could be collected.
- Dénia: In Dénia the intensity of the rainfall will arrive at noon, although much less than what was initially expected. The largest accumulated will not exceed 8 liters per square meter. At night it could rain again.
- Chàbia: In this town in the Marina Alta, light rains are expected throughout the day and will be more intense at night when 21 liters per square meter could be collected at 9:00 p.m.
