“I have no words … it hurts in my soul.”
Thus began Luis Díaz, Colombian player of Liverpool, his message of condolences after the death of his teammate in Liverpool, the Portuguese Diogo Jota, in an accident at dawn on Thursday in Spain.
“Not only for what it was on the court, but for the person who was outside of it. There are gestures that you never forget, and Diogo had one with me that will accompany me all my life,” Diaz continued.
When Luis Díaz signed for Liverpool in 2022, Diogo Jota forgave the remaining months of renting a house in Porto, where the Colombian played, who had leased when he considered that he no longer made sense to collect him when he was teammates.
Díaz concluded with a message for the wife and children of Jota: “My hug is with Rute, her three children and her family. Rest in peace, Diogo and André.”
Jota, 28, died in a car accident in northern Spain with his brother and also footballer André Silva.
Cristiano Ronaldo, star and captain of Portugal, also sent a message full of pain in which he said that the death of his selection partner “makes no sense.”

Liverpool FC declared to be “devastated by the tragic death of Diogo Jota.”
The young Portuguese striker arrived at the English club in 2020 after being transferred from the Wolverhampton Wanderers for a figure close to US $ 50 million.
The club added: “The Liverpool FC will not make more statements at the moment and request that the privacy of the family, friends, colleagues and staff of the Diogo and André club be respected while trying to assimilate an unimaginable loss.”

“There are no words to comfort you so pain. I will always remember you with your smile, like a good partner inside and off the field.
I send all my strength to your family, from where I am sure that it will always be with you, especially your wife and three children. Rest in peace, Diogo and André.
