There has been an important update regarding the company's plans for this year's WWE Draft. The promotion is currently focused on Night of Champions on June 28 in Saudi Arabia.
According to a new Cory Hays report from BodySlamthe WWE Draft of 2025 will take place later this year instead of its usual schedule after Wrestlemania. The report said the promotion is considering the draft after Summerslam this year.
Summerslam this year will be two nights and will take place on August 2 and 3 at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey. The speculated date for the Draft would be in the season premieres of RAW and SmackDown in September 2025.
King and Queen of the Ring tournaments are ongoing in Raw and Smackdown. The winners of the tournaments will challenge for a title in the Summerslam this year in August.
Wrestling Insider suggests that Cody Rhodes could change brand during the wwe draft
Wrestlevotes recently suggested that Cody Rhodes could change brand during this year's WWE Draft.
The American Nightmare captured the undisputed WWE championship by Roman Reigns in Wrestlemania XL. Rhodes had an impressive reign, but lost it to John Cena at the main event of Wrestlemania 41 in April. Rhodes joined Jey use to defeat John Cena and Logan Paul in the main event of Money in the Bank earlier this month.
Speaking in WrestleVotes Q&AInsider said Rhodes is currently on SmackDown, but that could change during the draft. Wrestlevotes added that he expected the company to delay a rivalry between Rhodes and Randy Orton until the former AEW star was champion again.
“As far as I know, it is in SmackDown for now. Once the draft occurs, things can change. As for Randy and Cody's program, I hope they wait until Cody is champion again, I think that deserves the title, there is more story to tell that way, so I could take time,” he said. (From 24:19 onwards)
