Viktor Gyokeres said we need to embrace the run-in following our 2-1 Premier League defeat to Bournemouth at Emirates Stadium.<\/p>\n

The Swede bagged his 18th goal of the campaign, but it wasn’t enough as we lost our second home game of 2025\/26. <\/p>\n

Looking back at the match, Viktor said: “We didn’t come up to our level throughout the game. <\/p>\n

“I think when we scored to make it 1-1, we felt good as a team. We had some dangerous chances before that and we wanted to take control of the second half, maybe didn’t create enough, in attack. <\/p>\n

“They didn’t create so much either, but they were clinical and they scored on the chances they got. That’s why it wasn’t a good result today.”<\/p>\n

Attention now turns to Wednesday as we take on Gyokeres’ former side, Sporting in the Champions League quarter-final second leg, an occasion our summer signing is relishing.<\/p>\n

He said: “We have a lot of important games to come and we need to embrace it and to enjoy playing those games. <\/p>\n

“Like I said, it’s a great game to have in a few days,\u00a0so we just need to recover now, leave this behind and make a very good performance on Wednesday.”<\/p>\n
