Stina Blackstenius and the UEFA Women\u2019s Champions League – it\u2019s a match made in heaven!<\/p>\n

Our super Swede secured her legendary status at the club with the winning goal in last season\u2019s final against Barcelona, and has been looking ahead to this weekend\u2019s semi-final first leg at home to Lyon.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the Sobha Realty Training Centre on Friday about what this competition means to her, Stina said: \u201cIt’s a really special competition. Knowing that we won it last year was just amazing and a really good experience for us as a team. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf I speak for me, that just makes me feel like I want to do it again and want to push for another piece of silverware. Arsenal is a club that should play in the Champions League and this is where we want to be. It’s such a special competition in every single way.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 2024\/25 semi-finals saw us lose the first leg 2-1 at home to Lyon before producing a stunning turnaround in France to win the tie 5-3 on aggregate.<\/p>\n

So what does Stina remember of those dramatic encounters?<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were two tough games last season and two different games as well but I felt like in the second game it came out really fast, it was really intense but we also got the goals and that’s also something I think we could build on from what we went through in the group stage and against Real Madrid, coming back from the result we weren’t happy with but as a group we really came together and we played a really good game and that gave us a lot of confidence in the group and we have a strong belief in ourselves,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo a big part is how much we believe in it and how much we trust each other in these situations and I really hope we can see that confidence from what we did then and keep going.\u201d<\/p>\n
