At least 20 Palestinians died Monday in an Israeli air attack to a cafeteria in front of the sea frequented by activists, journalists and local residents in western Gaza, they denounced doctors and eyewitnesses.
Rescue teams recovered 20 bodies and evacuated dozens of injured from the Al-Baqa cafeteria, an outdoor store composed of tents along the beach, a Civil Defense spokesman for Gaza told BBC, controlled by Hamas.
The spokesman indicated that emergency teams continued working on the deep crater left by the explosion.
The attack on the cafeteria
“I was heading to the cafeteria to use the Internet a few meters away, when there was a great explosion,” Aziz Al-Afifi, a cameraman of a local producer, told BBC.
“I ran to the place. My teammates were there, people with whom I am on a daily basis. The scene was horrible: corpses, blood, shouting everywhere,” he said.
Videos published by social networks activists seem to show the time when a missile, allegedly fired from an Israeli war plane, hit the place. The images captured the sequelae of the attack, with bodies scattered on the ground.

The Al-Baqa cafeteria had become a usual space for journalists, activists and teleworking by offering Internet access, seats and work space along the Mediterranean coast of Gaza.
There were no immediate comments from the Israeli army about the event.
The impact occurred after Israel carried out a wave of air attacks in the Gaza Strip during the night, which caused the massive displacement of hundreds of Palestinian families, according to witnesses.
Dozens of injured civilians were evacuated to the Al-Ahli hospital in the city of Gaza, according to local reports.
The bombing came after one of the greatest evacuation orders issued since the resumption of war in March.

Pressures for ceasefire
All this happens in the midst of a growing pressure on Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, so that the efforts towards a high fire agreement reorient.
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, declared this Saturday on social networks that Netanyahu was negotiating an agreement with Hamas “at this time.”
Days before, a high position of Hamas said that the mediators had intensified their efforts to negotiate a new fire and the release of hostages in Gaza, but acknowledged that negotiations with Israel were still stagnant.
In March, a two -month fire failed when Israel launched new attacks against Gaza. The high the fire agreement, which entered into force on January 19, had to have three stages, but did not exceed the first.
Israel imposed a total blockade of humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza, which was partially relieved after 11 weeks due to the pressure of the United States allies and the warnings of international experts on famines.
This partial flexibility resulted in the creation of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (FGH), a controversial humanitarian organization backed by the United States and Israel. Since the FGH assumed distribution operations, there have been almost daily incidents of deaths and injuries between Palestinians requesting help.
Face -to -face and medical witnesses blame Israel, which for its part ensures that it only shoots warning shots against people who consider a threat.

The testimonies from Gaza
Residents of the city of Gaza said that dozens of Israeli air attacks were targeting densely populated neighborhoods of the East, such as Shujaiya, Tuffah and Zeitoun.
Videos published by social networks activists captured scenes of chaos and explosions that illuminated the night sky, followed by flames and dense columns of smoke on the horizon.
According to reports, one of the attacks reached a school in Zeitoun that housed displaced families.
“The explosions did not stop … they seemed earthquakes,” said Salah, a 60 -year -old resident of the city of Gaza, to the Reuters news agency.
“In the news we hear that the fire is close; in the field we see death and we hear explosions,” added this father of five children.
The reports indicate that the five fatalities occurred in an attack on the camp of Al Shati, west of the city of Gaza.
The Israel Defense Forces (FDI) had previously ordered residents to leave much of Northern Gaza, in anticipation of attacks.

Most of those displaced during the night moved west of the city of Gaza instead of the southern region, as the IDF had ordered.
“We had no choice but to leave everything behind,” Abeer Talk, mother of seven children who fled Zeitoun with his family.
“We received recordings from telephone calls in Arabic that informed us that we were in a combat zone and that we should immediately evacuate.
“This is the seventh time we are forced to flee,” he lamented.
He added: “We are again on the street, without food or water. My children starve. Death is more pleasant than this.”
What comes after
In the midst of this growing humanitarian crisis, the fear that evacuation orders and continuous air attacks are part of a broader Israeli plan grows to expand its land offensive in Gaza.
However, in the Israeli media it is also speculated that some generals believe that military operations in the strip are about to meet their final objectives.
That is also the opinion of many leaders of the army, who fear that the drift of Gaza's campaign towards a war war warls cause more deaths of hostages, civilians and soldiers.
The next steps of the Israeli prime minister are being observed closely: although the Benjamin Netanyahu government has been betting on continuing the war until Hamas defeat, it is subject to growing pressure, both national and international, to seek a new agreement of high fire.
The Israeli army began its military campaign in Gaza in response to the attack led by Hamas on Israeli territory that occurred on October 7, 2023, in which some 1,200 people died and another 251 were taken as hostages.
More than 56,000 people have died in the territory since then, according to the Ministry of Health of the Strip, directed by Hamas, while it is estimated that about 50 Israelis remain kidnapped in Gaza, of which it is believed that there are about 27 that already died.
