Already assumed the political responsibilities with their resignation of all their political positions, the already ex -commissioner of the Government of Spain for the Dana, José María Ángel Batalla, will have to clarify before the Anti -Corruption Prosecutor's Office why it appears in his file as an official of the Diputación de Valencia a gross falsification of a university degree in his name. They will also have to declare the two senior officials of the provincial institution who endorsed these powers in 2015 and 2022. At the moment, Ángel Batalla has publicly assured that he does not know anything about that document and even has affirmed that he could go to the courts to denounce a possible assembly to knock him down, he denounces that he has not yet been presented in the corresponding guard court.
Antifraud's investigation that now studies the Anti -Corruption Prosecutor's Office has been 'express' compared to other procedures opened by the agency, something common in an entity that takes more time for its investigations after the dismantling by the director chosen by PP and Vox, Eduardo Beut. The initial anonymous complaint against José María Ángel appeared in Antifraude on April 9, 2025.
On April 15, six days later, the Director of Antifraud authorized the agency officials to appeal in the Diputación and at the University of Valencia to compare the authenticity of the title of diploma that consisted of the file of the commissioner for the Dana commissioner. That investigation of the Anti -Fraud Agency, which could have been made public on May 8 – the conclusions are from May 7 – did not come to public light until July 29, just the day that nine months of the Dana were completed. But it was not the first time that Angel Battle official was put in Solfa. The politician requested to access the commissioner position an extension of the extension of active duty. An official advice to political groups that, by the way, the PP wanted to duplicate in the 2019-2023 legislature, but to which the ruling left opposed.
After his resignation, José María Ángel must continue working in the Diputación until December 6, the day he turns 69 and at the time he would have to ask for the last extension to continue with the public service. We will have to see where they relocate it, although that is another story.

The idea of José María Ángel after jumping the scandal was to resist and try to explain to public opinion that he accessed his official place without the need for the false title investigated. In a statement, José María Ángel announced what several media already, including eldiario.es, had published: the end to their political career to “defend her honesty” and not damage the party and her family.
