MJF and Adam Cole finished their rivalry of one year at AEW Worlds End in December, where MJF was able to retain its diamond ring dynamite. The story between MJF and Cole dates back to 2023, where both men spent most of the year forming a team and fighting with each other, which finally led to its dynamic relationship becoming one of AEW's most intriguing stories.
However, after Cole brought MJF in Worlds End 2023 and revealed that he was “the devil”, his rivalry was suspended for a prolonged period because both fighters were injured. Finally they were able to resume their rivalry in the second half of 2024, but according to former WCW Konnan star, MJF has become a less attractive character throughout his story with Cole.
“I simply thought, brother, MJF has cooled a little … Adam Cole's was terrible and then extended it, do you know what I say? That end and that he revealed that he was he (The Devil) make co “Keepin 'it 100”.
Last November, Cole approached the criticisms aimed at his dispute with MJF, explaining that he understands the confusion that surrounds the story, especially after his transition to Babyface despite being the one who turned against MJF in the first place.
