Luka Doncic, star of Los Angeles Lakers and former Real Madrid player, heads the preselection of Slovenia for Eurobasket 2025, in which it is framed in Group D with France, Iceland, Slovenia, Poland, Belgium and Israel.
The Aleksander Sekulic coach published a first list of 19 players, among which are, in addition to Doncic, other recognizable names for European basketball such as Klemen Prepelic, former Real Madrid player, Valencia Basket and Joventut; Zoran Dragic, former Baskonia; Vlatko Cancar, former San Pablo Burgos; Edo Muric, current player of Lleida; or the nationalized Josh Nebo, of Olimpia Milan.
Slovenia will play six friendly games of preparation between August 8 and 16 against Germany, on two occasions, United Kingdom, Latvia and Serbia before the start of the Eurobasket that will be played in Latvia, Cyprus, Finland and Poland between August 27 and September 14.
