Less than 48 hours after the journalist who ate with Carlos Mazón at the El Ventorro restaurant in València on the day of the dana, Maribel Vilaplana, testified before the Catarroja judge who is investigating the Valencian Government's management of a tragedy that caused 229 deaths, a new detail has become known that makes even more evident the role of the still president of the Generalitat on that fateful day.

As published in the newspaper Levante-EMVVilaplana showed the head of the Consell around 5:40 p.m., an hour before Mazón and the journalist concluded their dinner, a video received by WhatsApp by the communicator in which the floods in the Valencian town of Utiel could be seen. According to sources familiar with the statement, Vilaplana will tell the judge that he showed Mazón the video of the Utiel floods at 5:40 p.m.

The mayor of Utiel, the popular Ricardo Gabaldón, had already warned in the mid-day news program of À Punt, shortly after 2 p.m., of the critical situation that his town was suffering.

Around that time, the head of the Consell had spoken by phone with the then Minister of the Interior and person in charge of emergencies, Salomé Pradas, who had previously tried to contact Mazón without success. Let us remember that the Integrated Operational Coordination Center was meeting from 5 p.m., although the alert message to mobile phones would not be sent until 8:11 p.m., when half the province was already flooded by the overflows of the Magro and the Poyo ravine.
