In September 2023, WWE informed Mustafa Ali that he had been released from his contract. During a recent interview in “Insight With Chris Van Vliet”, Ali detailed another facet of that fateful day, one that focused specifically on his wife.
“I am not teaching you, five minutes after receiving the call about liberation, your phone rings,” recalls Ali. “She answers. People do not know that, months before all this happened, my wife had a very strong neck pain. We changed the pillows, I told her to go a massage and the pain worsened more and more to the point of becoming a weakening pain. I thought: 'What happens?'
We take her to the doctor, so her doctor calls and says: 'Yes, you have a broken neck and need surgery.' The day they fired me, as 10 minutes later, five minutes later, we learned that I had a broken neck, my attention, all my energy, my concentration focus on it. ”
According to Ali, he received the call from the WWE while doing cardiovascular exercises on the ground floor of his house. Naturally, the former remuneration leader uploaded the stairs to transmit the information to his wife, assuring him at the same time that he would find out what the following steps would be.
Minutes later, his wife received the aforementioned phone call from his doctor. Fortunately, with the help of some medical friends, the couple was able to program the surgery that needed a short time later.
