Cm punk vs. Drew McIntyre in a belt fight was one of the main events of the WWE Bash in Berlin billboard at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin, Germany.
This was the second fight of his rivalry, which began earlier this year after McIntyre made an unpleasant heel promo and attacked punk. Since then, Punk has fooled McIntyre to lose the World Heavyweight World Championship three times.
McIntyre defeated Punk in Summerslam, with Seth Rollins as a special guest referee, while Punk was focused on recovering his beloved bracelet. On Monday, McIntyre knocked out Punk in what appeared to be an angle of injury, which left him out of television.

While talking at Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer declared that WWE felt that Punk needed a great victory in Bash in Berlin because he hadn't won a PLE fight in WWE since his return in November.
Meltzer explained: “Punk made him surrender. He gave him four Gts. He touched the four corners without the other type to touch the corner behind him. They had already said it before in combat. The mentality is that Punk had not had a great victory. He had been in the company since November and simply felt that he needed a great victory because he is a great star. They thought Drew could handle it and that Drew was going to recover his heat two days later.
