Joe Hendry finally could not win the TNA World Championship in Bound for Glory on Saturday night.
At the end of the fight, the special guest referee Frankie Kazarian tried to collect his Trophy Call Your Shot Gauntlet that he had previously won in the show. However, JBL made another surprise appearance, knaking Kazarian with a clothesline of hell. He left the ring and told Hendry, who seemed confused and grabbed JBL in the jacket in response. JBL responded by knocking Hendry with a clothesline. JBL also eliminated Ryan Nemeth before leaving.
Back to the ring, Ziggler applied the Danger Zone to Hendry, but he kicked him when a second referee went to the ring. Hendry tried to apply Ovation standing, but Nemeth dodged it and applied the Danger Zone for the second time, noting the victory.
The world championship of TNA has been in the sight of Hendry for most of the year. In Slammiversary, he lost the opportunity to win the title after Josh Alexander turned against him. Last month, he defeated Kazarian and became the new number one contender to the title of Nic Nemeth.
Knockouts champion is crowned
Masha Slalavich won the title on Saturday in TNA Bound for Glory in Detroit. The end saw Jordynne Grace try a Grace Driver from the upper rope. Slalavich instead made its way and connected a superplex. She continued with a Piledriver to ensure victory, becoming champion of the Knockouts for the first time.
After the fight, Slalavich put Grace standing and the two hugged. Grace had been champion during most of the year, keeping him for 288 days. She defeated Trinity (Naomi) for the title in TNA Hard to Kill on January 14. Grace had gained his fight for the title Call Your Shot he had won in Bound for Glory last year.
