The president of the Junta de Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, has asked this Saturday to the president of the Government and leader of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, who undergoes a motion of confidence in the Congress of Deputies or summones elections. That has been the tone of his speech within the meeting of the Federal Committee of the Party that is taking place behind closed doors at the Socialist Headquarters of Ferraz Street in Madrid, as explained to Eldiario.es several of the attendees.
According to these voices, Page has reflected that once the former socialist leader and former vice president of the government Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba, resigned from a minor crisis in the PSOE and that another of his predecessors, Josep Borrell, left the position for a case of corruption that did not even affected him
For Page, the PSOE lives the “most serious crisis” in terms of corruption throughout the last democratic stage of Spain, so he has gone to the federal committee of his party to listen to exits to this situation, but “not escapes or escape routes.”
At its entrance to the socialist conclave, which is held in the Madrid headquarters of Ferraz Street, it believes that the important thing is what happens tomorrow and the political exits “to the project that Pablo Iglesias founded”. “Listening to those outputs has to come from the address. And the address has to understand that if it does not offer exits, if it does not offer solutions, it is obviously part of the noise,” he said.
The Castilian-Manchego president considers that it is time to have “a lot of generosity” with which socialists who led the party before and with those who will come later. “It is time to have political height. And to know and remember that no matter how important the leaders are, and I speak to them in the first person, the acronym, the party, their history, and many things we do in favor of the people are much more important. So it is a time to live up to the height of the circumstances,” he said.
Page has pointed out that the decisions that will be made today in the Federal Committee are internal, but its size is “infinitely greater than what you can talk about here today.” “I care above all to go out with the guarantee, with certainty, that there is no more, there is no more. That the situation has ended here. That certainty is already very serious,” he added.
The socialist leader will listen to Pedro Sánchez today in Ferraz but warns that the party “cannot hide the head or apply hot cloths.” “That is the best exit that I always have to come. That is the best way out,” he insisted.
“It is not worth having a little less than the Popular Party, or measuring us for the ribbon of the Popular Party. It is a much more serious issue. We have always led to Gala that there is more social intolerance in corruption on the left than on the right. And I think that is not good,” he said.
