Nilka Baena is a Colombian woman who a year ago worked in Valencia taking care of an elderly person. She took care of everything at home, she was what many people call “an intern.” Without papers. Until that day, when like many people, he lost his home and lost his job. It is one year since the dana: 229 confirmed fatalities. And a question: Where was Mazón?
That question is what gives its name to the elDiario.es documentary co-produced with Barret Cooperativa, Calibrando Producciones and Cosabona Films, which sheds light on the gaps left by the lack of information from Mazón himself and his team, who have not yet clarified the details of that day. In this podcast we hear fragments of the documentary from experts, policy makers and people affected by what happened that day. We leave you the link in the description.
We tell what the day of the Nilka flood was like and what it was like, as far as we know, the day of President Carlos Mazón. We want to talk about that parallel story, sometimes so disconnected, of what was happening on a political level, which we tell in the documentary, with what was happening to Nilka at home. We do it accompanied by the journalist who best knows the details of what happened a year ago. With Sergi Pitatch, director of elDiario.es in the Valencian Community.
