Rome has been under contract with World Wrestling Entertainment since 2016. He has worked as a ring announcer in the three brands of the company, NXT, NXT, RAW and SmackDown. The former WWE champion currently works in the same position on the White and Golden brand.

Mike Rome talked about how he signed with WWE
During a conversation with World Wrestling Entertainment, Mike Rome talked about how he had the opportunity to sign with the headquarters in Stamford. Rome said he was a big fan of the product when he was a child and that he always wanted to be a fighter. However, he realized that being a fighter in the ring was not an option for him.
Former 24/7 champion also mentioned that former SmackDown Live ring announcer Greg Hamilton helped him join the development brand.
