A great free agent has made his first appearance in NXT, and it is a person who was once one of the great promises of the WWE rival company, AEW.
Shortly before Tuesday's star event on the NXT program, Ricky Starks appeared among the public. They immediately recognized the former AEW star, whom the announcers did not mention by name.
Starks said that if NXT is the future of professional wrestling, they need an absolute superstar of the future. If this is the most popular brand, they need the most popular free agent.
“And everyone wonders when the revolution will televise again,” he concluded. “I'm here, right?”
After being out of AEW's television since March of last year, it was reported on Monday that Starks had been released from the company. It has not been made public why AEW stopped using Starks or what he led to his dismissal. In an interview, Starks himself said he wasn't sure why he had been outside television, although he had his theories.
