Sebastián Olivares, three golds and a world record for Colombia in the Pan American Pesos Lifting

Colombian pesist Sebastián Olivares shone on Tuesday in the category of 71 kilograms of the Pan American Pesos Lifting Championship held in Cali. He registered a historical performance because, not only took three gold medals, but imposed a new world record in envy.

In the starting mode, Olivares raised 146 kilograms, a brand that allowed him to overcome the Venezuelan Reinner Arango, who registered 142 kg, and the Mexican Vicente Montoya, who stayed with 131 kg. With that partial advantage, the Colombian headed towards a memorable performance.

The big difference made it in the envy. In the Miguel Calero de Cali Coliseum, the National Pesista opened with 175 kilograms. In his third attempt, he extended his record with a 191 kg uprising, a figure that is a world record for the category.

With these results, Olivares also took gold in the total, with 337 kilograms, a brand that also granted the Pan -American record. Reinner Arango (314 kg), and Mexican Jonathan Muñoz (293 kg).

Prominent performance by Francisco Mosquera

Earlier, also this Tuesday, Francisco Mosquera contributed to the Colombian medaller in the Pan American Pesos Lifting Championship that takes place in Cali. He did it with an outstanding performance: it was absolute runner -up in the category of 65 kilograms (start, envión and total).

The Colombian lifted 135 kg in start and 178 kg in envy, totaling 313 kg. He even dared to look for a Pan -American and world record with an attempt that he failed to specify. The title was for the American Hampton Morris, who broke marks with 137 kg in start and 181 in envy.
