Outside the professional wrestling, CM Punk has made some incursions into the performance, including his most recent work playing Paul in four episodes of the television series “Mayans Mc”.

However, probably his most popular role so far is that of Ricky Rabies in the wrestling series “Heels”, where he starred with Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig. Amell recently appeared in “Insight with Chris Van Vliet“, Where he remembered how Punk ended up being chosen for the program.

“(Punk) was not originally on that role; we had filmed a lot of things with a different actor, with a different actress, playing Rickie Rabies and I think Vickie Rabies, maybe,” Amell recalled. He then explained that the original actor abandoned the role due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Amell said it was great to work with CM Punk and described him as a good actor.

“I support the fight I had with him, it was very fun and if that is five percent of the reason we brought him back to the business, I'm fine with that,” he added.

Amell also confirmed that Punk does not “support nonsense” of anyone and even regrets not being able to attend the return of punk to professional wrestling in “aew rampage: The First dance.”

Cm punk could return to TV if heels is renewed

The series Heels It premiered in 2021 and it is two brothers who are in charge of a wrestling company in a small town in Georgia. The plot continues its struggle to keep your father's legacy alive in the family business. CM Punk played Ricky Rabies, a veteran with an extravagant style, a character who took advantage of Punk's real experience in professional wrestling to give him authenticity.

“Heels” was canceled in 2023, but the two filmed seasons will be broadcast on Netflix from this Sunday, September 15. Depending on how well he goes to the series, he could potentially be retaken by the streaming giant for a third season, which former showrunner Mike O'Malley believes that it could happen at the end.
