The former Superman actor Dean Cain has announced that he has requested to join the customs immigration and control service (ICE) to support the anti -immigration agenda of US President Donald Trump.
The Federal Agency has aggressively intensified the raids against immigrants since Trump's return to the White House and has recently received $ 75,000 million in additional funds as part of its “great and beautiful law” that includes billions to hire 10000 additional ICE agents by 2029.
Speaking to Fox News on Wednesday night, Cain told the presenter Jesse Watters that he had decided to join ICE after sharing one of his recruitment videos on his Instagram account on Tuesday, of which Watters had spoken in his program.
“Actually I am assistant to the Sheriff Jury and reserve police officer, but I was not part of ICE. However, once I published it and you mentioned it in your program, it went viral,” Cain told Watters on Wednesday. “So now I have spoken with some ICE officials and I will take possession as an agency agent as soon as possible.” When they asked him what had inspired him to join, Cain replied: “This country was built thanks to patriots who took a step forward, were popular or not, and did the right thing. I sincerely believe that this is the right thing.”
“We have an immigration system that does not work. Congress has to fix it, but, meanwhile, President Trump appeared to the elections with this promise. He is fulfilling her. This is what people voted. It is what I voted and he will carry it out and I will do my part to help so.
Cain, who played Superman with Teri Hatcher in Lois & Clark: Superman's new adventures In the 1990s, he said he expected others to join him. “I'm going to step forward,” he said. “I hope that many other ICE and exaggerating ICEs take a step forward and we can immediately reach the recruitment objectives and help protect this country.”
Since Trump was re -elected, ICE has been carrying out unprecedented migratory raids throughout the United States and now aims to stop at least 3000 people a day. In these raids, undocumented people have been arrested, residents with protected legal status and even US citizens who have been taken from the streets and subject to a deportation system that increasingly respects due process.
ICE actions have triggered protests throughout the United States and the Trump administration has imprisoned and processed protesters, as well as civilians who record and oppose the arrests of ICE.
Cain was recently news to qualify Superman's last film as “progressive”, after the director, James Gunn, described the character as an immigrant. Cain declared TMZ: “To what extent Hollywood will make this character progressive? How much will Disney change to Snow White? Why are these characters change these characters (for) to adapt to the new times?”
“We know that Superman is an immigrant, it is a damn extraterrestrial … the 'American style' is favorable to immigrants, tremendously favorable to immigrants,” he added. “But there are rules … there have to be limits, because we cannot have everyone in the United States. We cannot have everyone, society would fail. So there has to be limits,” he said.
