The Rock's action agenda could potentially keep it out of the WWE Wrestlemania 41 billboard.
Last weekend in Bad Blood, The Rock returned to WWE for the first time from the sequelae of Wrestlemania 40. He made a surprise appearance at the end of the PLE after Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes joined together to defeat only Sikoa and Jacob Fatu of The Bloodline.
It has been speculated that The Rock could face Rhodes or Reigns, or both in a triple threat struggle, in Wrestlemania 41. But Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter That, at least for now, The Rock is not scheduled for Wrestlemania:
Dwayne Johnson is not scheduled for the show. Obviously that could change and he will do what he wants all the time. While no one can say it publicly, some with mentalities of the old school did not like the idea that the show (in Bad Blood) was stolen and that a fight is not being prepared.
When asked about Rock vs. Reigns vs. Rhodes. Rock came out with the town's belt that Muhammad Ali's widow gave him in the Hall of Fame. There was no specific reason, beyond that they told us that different reasons were given to different people. What we do know is that Dwayne Johnson, when it comes to this, or will be with everything, that is, a complete training field to be in the best aesthetic and wrestling form that can, or not. The story is simply that his agenda became too heavy, he could not commit to doing well ” .
In seeing if The Rock can be in Wrestlemania
Although The Rock is not scheduled for WrestleMania at this time, Meltzer said that it is only October and there is still time to change the mind:
If I changed my mind, ultimately, I would decide who wants to face and the only thing that would receive a rejection would be if I wanted to win the WWE title, in which case it is difficult to say what would prevail or not, but that is not a problem at all at this time.
In the star event of the first night of Wrestlemania 40, this April, The Rock returned for its first fight at the WWE in more than a decade. He defeated Rhodes in a fight in pairs on the first night. Rhodes then won the WWE undisputed championship to Reigns on the second night.
Wrestlemania 41 will take place from Las Vegas on Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20, 2025.
