The Dana judge has summoned Patricia García, the head of the Civil Protection Unit of the Government Delegation in Valencia, who on October 29, 2024, at 6:35 p.m., asked a senior official at the Emergency Coordination Center to send an Es-Alert message to testify as a witness.

García was connected to the meeting of the Integrated Operational Coordination Center (Cecopi), as was Inmaculada Piles, head of service of the Emergency Coordination Center. Piles, in her statement as a witness on October 28, admitted that García asked her to send the Es-Alert, an option that the Emergency official transferred to her superior.

The judge, in an order issued this Friday, has accepted the testimony requested by the popular accusation exercised by the CGT union.

On the other hand, it also agrees to declare Eugenio Burriel, emeritus professor at the University of Valencia and former Government delegate, as an expert witness, as requested by the popular accusation carried out by Acció Cultural del País Valencià. Burriel is the author of an academic article on dana published in a journal specialized in flooding.
