Only water bottles on the table break the blanquinegro chromatic style that floods the scene. Dressed in a sober pole of the same colors and in front of a background only decorated by the two n and the cross that form the group logo, three people are directed to the audience. They are the veteran ultra -rightist Enrique Lemus, the phalangist condemned for hate crime Isabel Peralta and, to the other extreme, a young man named Iván, head and face covered. They are two national nucleus leaders, she one of the best -known extreme right activists in recent years and the three are inaugurating the new headquarters that the group has just launched in Madrid.

The space, of 530 square meters, is not yet open to the public, something that will be “in a short time”, according to Iván on the YouTube channel of the neo -Nazi Alberto Pugilato. The young man uses Balaclava in all his public appearances, in which he seems to act as a national nucleus spokesman, a group mainly formed by men who broke into a little over a year ago in the Spanish ultra -right scented and already monopolizes a good part of the foci. On the one hand, due to the forcefulness of its forms and messages, on the other to the investigation opened by the Civil Guard for calling the “joint fight” in the street in front of “the invasion” ”.

Precisely the inauguration of the Madrid headquarters, to the north of the capital, took place on the weekend that the “Cacerías” of Torre Pacheco broke against the local migrant population. At the base, a racist speech that criminalizes abroad and seeks its “mass deportation” or “reigning.” “We are losing Spain, we are seeing it these days,” said Lemus, from national democracy, which defended the importance of “being self -sufficient” with a space that has their own gym for the group's training and thus preventing the door from closing the door other locals because “the Nazis Malotes train there.”

The inauguration also served to draw the next steps of the group, in full expansion. Arising in the heat of the protests against the PSOE at its headquarters in Ferraz Street (Madrid), a national core was recorded as an association with “political civic purposes” in the Ministry of Interior last summer, based in Valladolid. During this time, he has made presentations in cities such as Gijón or Valencia, where he had a preponderant role in citizen mobilization after the Dana disaster, being one of the groups that popularized the motto “only the people saves the people.” After the Madrid, he hopes to open headquarters in September in Barcelona and the next one will be “surely” that of Seville.

Radical nationalist symbiosis

NN has never hidden its extremist ideology based on nationalism, white supremacism, the defense of traditions or the hatred of the immigrant, ideas that take shape with constant references to the “defense of the race” as the “spine” of the people. “Protecting and promoting our race and culture” is the second of the foundations that the group lists on its website after the “Birth Promotion” and the “Traditional Family Nuclei.” “Blood, soil and tradition” is the motto of the collective, which does not hide his admiration for extreme right leaders such as Adolf Hitler, an “Austrian uncle with very wise mustache”, as Ivan described in the inauguration of Madrid.

National nucleus members during a demonstration against immigration convened by Falange last May.

“It is an extremely radical formation that creates a very clear warmongering, combative and violent imaginary. They use an iconography closely linked to fascism and Nazism, with very hard, brief and forceful slogans such as 'defends your land', 'militates or dies' … there is no ambiguity, it is contrary to democracy and parliamentarism and becomes reference to terms as blood Völkisch, which is one of the principles that directly inspired Nazism, ”explains Sergi Soler, historian and expert in extremist narratives of the Autonomous University of Bacelone (UAB).

Having displayed this rhetoric, the national core was officially presented on April 14, 2024, on the day of the proclamation of the Second Republic, in the Ardemans space, classic ultra -rightist epicenter of the capital. “Here there will be people who come from Francoist ideas, Falangistas, national socialists, conservatives … But there is one thing we are clear: none want to see how the nation that our parents have raised is totally demolished,” Iván said referring to the objective of agglutinating extremist currents under “a symbiosis” that calls “radical nationalism.”

The communion with these ideas is evident: a few weeks ago Iván came to deny without complexes in TVE the holocaust and another militant spoked in a video broadcast in networks: “Minister Marlaska, the baby Marlaska, says that it is intolerable, that if they are Nazis, fascists … Well, of course we are! And we have nothing to be ashamed.” Some of the last messages in X of NN refer to two dates indicated for national fascism: the feast of Santiago and on July 18, on the day of the Francoist coup, which the group celebrated using a fragment of the face of the sun: “Sooner or later will laugh again,” he published.

Radicalization

The ideological foundation of the association reminds the classic of the extreme right that dot the national scene, but differs from them with the incorporation of new elements. Aware of the power of propaganda, national nucleus has made a powerful technical and visual commitment, with edited videos and a careful aesthetic based on harangues, music, uniformity of its members and a direct speech that usually end the arm high and a “upstream!”.

In them they call the “national reconquest”, talk about the “invasion of our peoples and cities” by migrants and, above all, repeat a collapse narrative, of a collapsed country in which nothing works. “They take away the future, destroy our identity, the insecurity in the streets increases, the economy is increasingly precarious and lie so much, our politicians charging bonuses while you calculate if you reach the end of the month,” they say in a video that encourages to join as a militant. And, paradoxically, they add: “This does not go left or right, it goes from Spain.”

For Soler, all this results in a “very dangerous radicalization cocktail” very focused on the collection of young people. “The images, colors, slogans and iconography they use are simple and effective, so they look They radicalize them in a much more violent way. ”

Gym and identity

Sports and physical training are two other key elements of the group in line with the cult of the body, discipline and the idea of traditional purity of fascism. Many of their videos are engraved in gyms and in others militants appear practicing sports, boxing or making routes in nature. To this is added a very specific and fixed aesthetic: in all the public appearances of the members, either in their videos or on the street, they are dressed in black t -shirts of national nucleus, the only flags that carry are those of the collective and usually go with the faces covered because “currently being nationalist, Francoist or fascist entails all kinds of evils for personal life”, from “fines to“ fines ” They hold on their website.

At first, the clothing used by the militants was from Siseubuto Division, a brand and distributor of garments with ultras designs and slogans created by Víctor Diego Villalba, former member of the neo -Nazi National Alliance Party and one of those arrested for the ultra -right -wing attack on the whitish bookstore in Madrid in 2013. Last year Sisebuto Division created a shirt in collaboration with Ivan for a long time like A bathing frogin which it appears Pepe the froga well -known internet meme used by the extreme rightwith a Nazis SS cap. Now, national core balaclavas and t -shirts can be found in the undefeated online store.

But the activity of the association, which is defined as “sports cultural”, is not limited to social networks or the identity. Consolidated after Ferraz's protests and the Crisis of the Valencian Dana, the organization tried to convene a concentration in front of the Center for Children of Hortaleza (Madrid) that was finally vetoed by the Government Delegation. On July 20, the National Nucleus was also in the protest in front of the center for migrants of Alcalá de Henares, which was a puncture for the extreme right, and weeks before his militants had joined the demonstration convened by Falange against immigration.
