Magistrate Leopoldo Puente has summoned former PSOE manager Mariano Moreno Pavón and a worker from the party's Organization Secretariat to testify as witnesses on October 29 in relation to cash payments of certain amounts by the party in favor of former minister José Luis Ábalos and his former advisor Koldo García, to which reference is made in the UCO report of October 8.

In an order, the judge explains that the aforementioned police report points to “the existence of certain communications relating to possible cash payments of certain amounts” to both by the PSOE that “would not appear” due to their dates or amounts in the information provided by the party to the high court.

The ruling indicates that, in some cases, the communications analyzed “make it possible to establish a correlation between the messages that point to money deliveries and the settlement of expenses” facilitated by the training. In others, however, “said correspondence could not be confirmed.” These amounts delivered would only be reflected in the conversations, but not in the information provided by the PSOE.

The judge recalls that last week both Ábalos and Koldo García exercised their right not to testify, so they did not provide any information in this regard. Consequently, it summons both so that they can provide information and deduce, where appropriate, the corresponding testimonies for its eventual investigation.
