According to the investigation, the suspects used digital payment accounts – as a payment market, orange X and Binance – to receive large sums of money, in some cases exceeding 160 million Argentine pesos. The collected tests include bank movements, IP addresses and digital messaging records.
A regional strategy against piracy
The intervention in Argentina is part of a regional offensive against illegal online content. Alliance and LaLiga have promoted different measures to curb digital piracy, such as DNS and IP blocking to illegal websites and legal actions to eliminate applications such as Magistv and Flujotv from digital stores, although they still face resistance from some technological platforms.
Another relevant advance was the creation of the first “War Room” antipirable in the country, a joint work space that brought together judicial specialists, technicians and representatives of the audiovisual sector in order to design more effective strategies to combat this type of crime.
