It is an almost mathematical truth. Every time the Popular Party approaches the thesis or Vox speech one step, several PNV and Junts move away. The harmony of those of Feijóo with those of Abascal always operates as a mechanism of action-reaction in explicitly conservative parties that so many times served to the center-right and those that even, not so much, were considered among the potential popular ranks allies for the governance of the country. A horizon that has become more impossible after the fire crisis, in which the PP has appealed to the army and the responsibility of the central government to the detriment of the autonomous communities.

That line marked by Genoa Street to point to the Pedro Sánchez Executive as an opposition strategy and also the image washing of the management of its regional presidents has been received as another threat in the ranks of the Basque nationalists and the Catalan independentistas. Because the method of accusing others to exempt direct implications in the competence system that supports the state of autonomies in this case has in this case. A capital issue in Catalonia and Euskadi.

The attempt of parliamentary offensive of the popular in this first week of the political course using the Senate again, the Chamber of Territorial Representation, has served, in practice, so that the main opposition party calibrates the feeling of both formations. Because among the most sounded criticisms of the attempt to generate noise with the framework of autonomous competences, those of those parties that, in theory, should not be so far from the PP have risen with special virulence.

“We do not admit those who disregard the risks of fires that come to question the state of autonomies.” Criticism did not arrive from any of the leftist parties but from the Basque Nationalist Party. His senator, Estefanía Beltrán, took advantage of his intervention during the appearance of the Interior Minister, Fernando Grande-Marlaska in the Senate, to launch a clear warning to the popular.

“They have bitten Vox's hook, Ladies of the PP, they are hostages of the reductionist and denalist measures of Vox: devalue the ability of the autonomous communities and then invite the State to take possession of those governments. They have let the elephant in their home. And we will not admit that the disability and neglect of some communities leads to the recentralization of competencies,” he said.

He had no friendly words for those of Feijóo the senator of Junts, Eduard Pujol. “The PP is more than tavern than yoga. Tell the PP and the ultra world that the competences are of autonomies. Make more pedagogy of responsibility. Who is it, who has the competences?” He questioned Fernando Grande-Marlaska. The spokesman of Puigdemont pointed out the “ideological strabismus of the PP” on the state of autonomies.

“From the regions they have been wanting to have the same competitions as Catalonia for 50 years but, at the time of truth, when the mess comes the only idea they have been called Mom and Dad already state. And we tell the Mañuecos on duty: what did they think was this of having responsibilities? What did they think it was to assume state responsibilities with a state mentality? What did they think when they asked for the same thing as Catalonia asked for the same thing?

This week's parliamentary rappe and PNV to the PP is, in fact, the continuation of a disagreement that comes from afar and has made impossible to those of Feijóo to set parliamentary majorities that bring them closer to governance. Always for its dependence, discursive or factual, of the extreme right. Some quarrels that in the case of Basque nationalists have been especially virulent in recent months and that are aggravated when essential issues are addressed for nationalism such as autonomous competences.

One of the most recent took place in early August. “We want to know and want to reach the bottom of that strange and murky relationship between that corrupt mafia and the investiture of Pedro Sánchez in which the PNV has participated and Aitor Esteban has the obligation to give explanations.” With these words, the general secretary of the PP, Miguel Tellado, was expressed when asked about the relations between his party and the PNV. Almost at the same time, the popular leader, to whom in the PNV they consider an essential part of the problem in their relations with the PP, claimed the Basque nationalists to drop the progressive government withdrawing their support in the Congress of Deputies.

Tellado's attack came only one day after he starred in a tense rifirrafe on social networks with the leader of the Basque nationalists, Aitor Esteban, who accuses of “lying” about his relationship with Antxón Alonso, the businessman linked to the case of the former Secretary of Organization of the PSOE, Santos Cerdán, who investigates supposed bites in public awards. “The thief is believed that everyone is of his condition,” Esteban replied to Tellado in X, where he recalled that the 'number two' of the PP withdrew from his curriculum that he was a journalist.

“Someone lies and Aitor Esteban has preferred to insult me directly,” said the leader of the PP, who asked the nationalist leader if Alonso “measured between the PSOE and the PNV” for the investiture of Pedro Sánchez with the intention of putting under the shadow of suspicion the role of Esteban himself. “The problem is that the person with whom he negotiated the investiture is in prison,” Tellado said in allusion to Cerdán. “Aitor Esteban is involved in a great mess and the sooner the correct explanations will go to all,” he added.

At the beginning of summer, the PNV leader himself explained in an interview in TVE that his party was far from understanding those of Feijóo. “The relationships are not in a good time. First, Tellado sent a message asking for a meeting, but immediately without waiting a response, he got into a press conference in which he disqualified us. And the next day the leader of the PP in Euskadi began to disqualify the PNV and accuse us of being mixed with the plot (Koldo case) with accusations without foundation. We are not going to tolerate it. He has been open, but relationships are not in a good time, it is evident.

Now in the middle of the criticisms of the Fire and Forestry Agents, which denounce systematic cuts in templates and in resources for the prevention and extinction of fires, the Popular Party has tried to go to the passage of the fire crisis pointing directly to the central administration, although the powers, both of prevention and extinction, are exclusively autonomous. And they have done so in unison from some of the affected communities but also from the national spokesmen of Genoa Street.

The new voice of the PP in Congress, Ester Muñoz, accused the central government of not making all its means available to autonomic executives, responsible for both the prevention and fire off. “The requests that most of the Armed Forces are incorporated through the UME are not being attended,” said Muñoz, who also blamed the government for not accessing Russian hydroAvions, with greater water transport capacity and despite the fact that the EU has established an embargo on Russia for the invasion of Ukraine.

Despite complaints, neither the regional presidents nor the PP raised at any time during the fire wave to request the emergency level 3, which would force the central government to assume all the powers and centralize the extinction tasks. In Castilla y León and Andalucía, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco and Juan Manuel Moreno, respectively, face elections in the coming months. María Guardiola governs in a minority and with the extended budgets, while Alfonso Rueda has in Galicia the clearest path and her electoral horizon goes to 2028. In state code, which still seems to be further is that the PP is in time to release the hand of Vox and approach other hypothetical partners, such as JUNTS and the PNV, before the next electoral cycle.
