The Rock is one of the biggest stars in the history of WWE. The town champion has continued to make appearances for promotion after saying goodbye as a full-time fighter in 2003. One of these appearances led to a meeting with a former champion, whom Rocky confused with a Make-A-Wish boy.
The superstar is none other than Hornswoggy. The former WWE cruise champion told the story of how The Rock confused him with a special child, as Gerald Brisco told him in a recent podcast episode What Were They Thinking?available in Backstage Pass.
“He does his promo. He returns. I say: 'hello'. I extend my hand as much as I can, not much. And I am in a suit because we were in the era of casual business dress. I am in a suit with my team bag, behind the scenes. I extend my hand and say: 'Hello, very pleasure. My name is Dylan. Thank you for returning.' He looks at me, extends his hand, does not give me his hand, he patches me on his shoulder and says: 'Did you have fun tonight, friend?' And he leaves. ” (48:18 onwards)
Hornswoggy said the rock really discovered his identity thanks to The Big Show, who explained to Rocky about Dylan's identity at the WWE during a RAW show. According to Hornswoggy, Rock told Show that he didn't know who Hornswoggy was because he didn't see the program.
“My friend, The Big Show, went to talk to Raw Rock and said: 'Did you think Hornswoggy was a make-up boy-wish?' And Rock replied: 'I don't see the program, I don't know (laughs).' ” (49:17 onwards)
The Rock is expected to appear in RAW's debut in Netflix next month. It remains to see what Triple H has prepared for fans once the red brand moves to the streaming platform.
