The former WWE main writer, Vince Russo, recently spoke about The Rock Promo in SmackDown. WWE announced that the megaestrella would be in the episode of the blue brand this week.
The Final Boss faced face to face with Cody this week. During the promo, the legendary star asked Cody to become 'his champion'. He told WWE's undisputed champion that he wanted his soul.
Russo was present in the last episode of Brodawn With Mac Davis. He pointed out that the rock promotion seemed unconcentrated because he had no material to work with. The veteran writer recalled that The Rock always improvised his promos, but in those days, he was working on solid stories with Stone Cold Steve Austin or Vince McMahon. Russo felt that there was no convincing story, which made The Final Boss promote seem disconnected.
“He has always improved his promos from day one. But he has no material. When he is with Austin, he has material. When he goes and comes with Vince, he has material. He has no material. There is no material.” (From 40:35 onwards)
The Rock revealed that it will be in Toronto for the elimination chamber. You will meet Cody Rhodes again in the event to obtain an answer to your proposal.
