The Rock has been absent from WWE television since Elimination Chamber. However, a WWE analyst suggested recently that The Final Boss could reveal to a first level superstar as his “last protected” when he returned.
Last month, John Cena took an unexpected turn to Heel in Elimination Chamber to align with The Rock. The two legends, next to Travis Scott, attacked former WWE undisputed universal champion, Cody Rhodes. Although many expected The Final Boss to appear in Wrestlemania 41 to help The Franchise Player capture the title, he did not. In his podcast Notsam WrestlingSam Roberts suggested that Cena could be Babyface again when facing The Rock and possibly involving Drew McIntyre in a storyline.
The 41 -year -old analyst said that The Final Boss could then reveal Drew McIntyre as his last protected before absent for a while. He clarified that the two -time WWE champion would not have to sell his soul, but only to obtain the approval of the TKO Board member.
“By the way, after John Cena eliminated The Final Boss, maybe The Final Boss leaves us with a last protected one, right? If John Cena is again Babyface, maybe The Final Boss has a last protected before saying goodbye for now. And that protected is very large and very Scottish More knowledge of The Final Boss.
Roberts said McIntyre could then enter a rivalry with WWE's current undisputed universal champion.
“Drew entering at the end of that and starting a rivalry with John Cena because John Cena betrayed The Final Boss I think it's the best way to close the cycle of this madness of The Final Boss and make John Cena Babyface again,” he added. (38:54 – 40:00)
WWE Superman “wants to sell his soul to The Rock
While Cody Rhodes refused to sell his soul to The Rock and John Cena apparently accepted, another top -level superstar seems interested in becoming an ally of The Final Boss.
In a recent interview with The Pat McAfee ShowThe Rock revealed that several main stars have sent him text messages, wanting to sell his souls, including one that he calls “the company's superman”:
“I cannot tell you the messages I received, and of the guys who sent them, which are these top types they are saying – one in particular, whom I want, is my man. I call him the company's superman. He said, 'listening, my soul is for sale when it is time.' And I said, 'I love it. (H/T: Wrestlinginc.)
McIntyre has a strong relationship with The Rock in real life. It will be interesting to see if they eventually work on the screen on WWE.
