The WWE Hall of Fame, The Undertaker, played a key role in Roman Reigns's career. Despite the attempt of the legendary star to put Reigns over, the WWE universe initially did not accept it as the best babyface of the company.
After his victory in Wrestlemania over The Last Outlaw in 2017, the Samoan took another three years to consolidate his place in the company with the approval of fans. Reigns gained popularity after associating with Paul Heyman. The Undertaker believes that Heyman's master play with the story of The Tribal Chief in SmackDown in the last four years deserves a lot of credit.
In the last episode of his podcast, Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway, The Phenom, Coanfrerion Matt Lyda and former general manager of Smackdown Teddy Long talked about ringside managers in WWE. When the name of The Wiseman was mentioned, Taker said the veteran greatly helped improve Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns characters.
“It's an incredible race, but Paul (Heyman) deserves his flowers,” said The Undertaker. “Roman (Reigns) also deserves his. Roman has advanced to light years from where he was; he was already in a good position, but he has advanced to light years, and I think there is much of that for what merit can be attributed, but Paul needs his recognition.” (From 1:22:22 to 1:22:50)
Interestingly, at the beginning of his career, The Undertaker was represented by Paul Heyman. The two signed a contract with the WCW, where The Deadman fought under the name of Ring “Mean” Mark Callous.
Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman recently met at WWE SmackDown
A week ago, in SmackDown, Paul Heyman returned to help Roman Reigns. The Wiseman asked Reigns in the form of CM Punk. The Best in the World joined Heyman on SmackDown during the last one, since he took the fifth place of the Wargames team of Otc in Survivor Series.
In the event last Saturday, Roman Reigns and Punk set aside their differences by the advice of The Wiseman and worked together. The Og Bloodline finally defeated The Bloodline in a Wargames fight.
The incorporation of CM Punk into the equation has led many fans to speculate on what the final result will be. The WWE creative team sowed the seeds of what seems to be a great angle in the future when The Best in the World reminded Paul Heyman that he would ask the latter to return the favor when it was the right time.
