The president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, announced on Monday nine measures against Israel before the “genocide” in Gaza. Sánchez has made this announcement in an appearance at the Moncloa Palace to inform the new initiatives that the Executive will adopt against Israel. One of the most important measures is the creation of a law to impose the embargo on weapons on Israel.
These are all the measures announced by the President:
1. The urgent approval of a royal decree law that legally consolidates the embargo of weapons to Israel.
2. The prohibition of traffic through Spanish ports to all ships that transport fuels destined for the Israeli armed forces.
3. The denial of entry to Spanish airspace to all those state aircraft that transport defense material for Israel.
4. The prohibition of accessing the Spanish territory to all those people who participate directly in the genocide, the violation of human rights and war crimes in the Gaza Strip.
5. The prohibition of the importation of products from illegal settlements in Gaza, in the West Bank, with the aim of fighting these occupations, of curbing the forced displacement of the Palestinian population and keeping alive the solution of the two states.
6. The limitation of consular services provided to Spanish citizens residing in Israeli illegal settlements to the minimum legally mandatory assistance.
7. The reinforcement of our support for the Palestinian authority through an increase in our troops in the border assistance mission that the European Union has in Rafah and the establishment of new collaboration projects with the Palestinian authority in the fields of agriculture, food security and medical assistance.
8. The expansion of our contribution, from the Spanish contribution to UNRWA, the United Nations Agency in charge of assistance to the Gazatí people, to an additional 10 million euros
9. The increase in the humanitarian aid and cooperation departure for Gaza to reach 150 million euros next year, in 2026.
“These nine measures as a whole will be executed immediately, adding to the many already adopted by the Government of Spain over the last two years,” said Sánchez.
