The former WWE chief writer, Vince Russo, recently spoke about the presentation of Rhea Ripley this week. The star was in action in Monday Night Raw.
Rhea Ripley was scheduled to face Roxanne Perez this week. The two stars offered an exciting fight during the program. Just when Rhea was about to connect the Riptide, another NXT star, Giulia, appeared and attacked Mami.
In the last episode of Legion of RAWRusso questioned the strategy of having NXT stars in the main roster. He pointed out that NXT began as a development promotion for new talents. The veteran writer felt that recently NXT stars have been scheduled at the same level as the fighters of the main roster, which is confusing for fans.
“I am very confused by this. Are we supposed to believe that Nxt is on par with WWE? I thought Nxt was of development. But now, I see Nxt arriving at WWE and being on equal terms with WWE's stars. So I don't understand how we should see Nxt,” he said. (From 15:12 onwards)
While Perez and Giulia attacked Rhea Ripley, the reigning women's world champion, Io Sky, ran to the ring to save her. It will be interesting to see if this event leads to team fight in the coming weeks.
