The Civil Guard investigates the circumstances of the death of an Irish couple in the interior of a home in a residential tourist development in Orihuela Costa, as INFORMATION has been able to confirm.
It was neighbors of the property who alerted the Orihuela Local Police around 10:15 a.m. after several days without seeing activity in the home and detecting odors and signs around the house that they considered anomalous.
Findings
The local agents, the first to arrive at the home, found the front door ajar. Inside, they found the body of a man with a cranial contusion and who had died approximately a week ago, according to the first forensic report.
Next to him, a woman had injuries to her torso and extremities and, although she still had vital signs when medical services arrived, she reportedly died shortly after. The age of both has not been revealed.
Both were found in an outbuilding of the house half-naked, according to the same sources. The agents also found remains of food and drink. The house is located in the Scorpions Avenue. A long high-capacity road that separates the south of the municipality of Torrevieja and the north of the Orihuela coast.

natural death
At first it was ruled out that it was a case of gender violence, although the Civil Guardwhich has a Judicial Police team in this area in Torre de la Horadada (Pîlar de la Horadada)continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic event. Neither firearms nor knives were found at the scene of the incident. Nor is the motive for the robbery suspected at first. The first indications suggest that the man's natural death occurred and that the woman, with limitations, could not warn of what had happened, although other avenues of investigation are open.
Residential
The urbanization in which these deaths occurred is part of one of the dozens that make up the conurbation of the Oriola coast in which more than 30,000 residents reside throughout the year, in addition to a significant floating population, with a neighborhood of a foreign majority, a lot of diversity and mobility, as well as a significant proportion of the retired population.
The Irish community has an important representation on the Vega Baja coast, especially in Orihuela Costa (almost 700 registered) and Torrevieja (400).
